ABOUT RICKY LUNA

Moving effortlessly between movies, TV, and music, Ricky Luna has worked with the biggest names in entertainment. But in spilling tracks onto dance floors, he has found his true passion as an innovator, performer, and producer.

Born to a Mexican and Cuban family in the United States, Ricky was a circus performer as a child, then became a member of the acclaimed “New Mickey Mouse Club” in his teens. The show was a hit, but few realized that the MMC talent factory was actually grooming the next generation of entertainment icons.

After MMC, Ricky decided to take a break from the performing arts and follow his other passion, soccer. Unfortunately, an injury during tryouts for the University of South Florida team brought those dreams to a premature end. He was devastated… until the day when he bought a Roland 303 drum machine and a pair of Technic 1200 turntables, giving him a new outlet for his boundless energy.

His growing passion for music led him to California, where he was DJing at house parties while studying music engineering at the Los Angeles Recording Workshop. While working as a promoter for 102.7 KIIS FM, he ran into fellow former Mousketeers Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez. Watching their performances inspired him to start producing music of his own.

Over the years, his musical efforts as performer, producer, and songwriter have paired him with artists such as Britney Spears, Richard Vission, Christina Aguilera, The CoStars, and Justin Timberlake. He has crafted remixes for Sony and Universal, and, most recently, he produced a song dedicated to his fellow soccer fans all over the world called GOL!, featuring Mexia and Myra. GOL! will be played in conjunction with the F.I.F.A World Cup 2010 on ESPN. He has formed his own production label, Signal Flow Music, allowing him to take full creative control of his music.

Everyone in music is waiting for a new sound to take the world by storm. Ricky’s long-awaited full-length solo dance project, ELECTRO BOMBA fuses the old-world Latin sounds of salsa, cumbia, rumba, and merengue with the 21st century beats of electronica, house, and techno, bringing the old world spirits of Perez Prado and Tito Puente to life with a thoroughly modern sound. ELECTRO BOMBA is electrifying for both new listeners and his legions of loyal fans.

Ricky has several irons in the fire for the new decade. As an actor, Ricky has been appearing in movies and TV shows since his teens, working with Steven Spielberg, Tom Cruise, Esai Morales, Hilary Duff, and countless others. You might have seen him in WAR OF THE WORLDS, STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE, THE BROTHERS GARCIA, or guest starring on BOSTON PUBLIC and ER. He has finished shooting a lead role opposite Danny Trejo in the upcoming thriller LUNAR EFFECT, his first major starring role since he returned to acting, and is serving as the development director for Mexia and Raul Antonio, the sons of Hernan of Los Tigres Del Norte. His fans can only guess where he’ll turn up next…

Es posible que lo han visto en War of The Worlds, Star Trek: Enterprise, The Brothers Garcia, o como invitado estelar en Boston Public y ER. Ricky tiene varias metas para la nueva década.
